Kristin Chenoweth is no stranger to spreading joy. The multi-hyphenate singer, actress, and Tony-award-winning Broadway performer has been entertaining crowds for decades, traveling around the country and around the world to do so, often during the holiday season.
But this year, she's doing something a little bit different: Chenoweth has partnered with Command Brand as their Partner-in-Cheer, which includes a contest where anyone can nominate the merrymakers in their life for a chance to win $25,000.
«It gets you in the Christmas spirit, the holiday spirit sooner than later,» Chenoweth tells The Spruce. «This is a really fun way to nominate, or talk about, someone who's brought you joy and light.»
We talked to Chenoweth to learn more about the contest, how she's celebrating the holidays, and her tips for making this holiday season more joyful.
Some of Chenoweth's personal favorite ways to decorate for the holidays include hanging string lights everywhere, and using Command strips so the decorations go up and come down easily.
«They make everything at the holidays so much easier,» Chenoweth says. «My parents every holiday season were big with the Command strips, big with the hooks, big with the lightning clips.» She says she doesn't just use them around the holidays either, but all throughout the year.
Chenoweth's love of music is no secret, so it's fitting that one of her tips for holiday decorating is setting the right mood.
«One of the main tips that I think is important for decorating is not so much how you do it...but getting in the mood,» Chenoweth says. «And for me, that's music.»
